Prayer warriors for the nation of Israel, our Prayer for Israel has been pushed back to April 12th at Bible Baptist Church due to Easter as there’s no service the evening of the 5th. Here are a few areas that need our prayer as well as some information about Passover which starts Wednesday night. Isaiah 62:6-7 calls us to be watchman on the walls that should never hold our peace(stop praying for Jerusalem). May the Lord bless your faithfulness.
I have set watchmen upon thy walls, O Jerusalem, which shall never hold their peace day nor night: ye that make mention of the Lord, keep not silence, and give him no rest, till he establish, and till he make Jerusalem a praise in the earth.
1) Pray for Israel as rockets continue to be sent from Iran, Hezbollah in Lebanon and recently the Houtis in Yemen. Each time a siren goes off in Israel everyone has to stop what their doing and head to a bomb shelter, often causing panic and anxiety. It’s not unusual for people to have less than a minute between the time the alarm sounds and when the rocket explodes. Also, because of the lack of shelters multiple families are crowding into the shelters. This can be quite challenging for those who have children and the elderly who often need their mediations, walkers, special diets, etc. Beds, chairs and bathrooms are a luxury.
3) Hezbollah in Lebanon has continued to send rockets into a small region of Israel’s north into one of the most bombarded territories in the Middle East. This is not a situation that Israel can tolerate. Pray that they find a way to stop this onslaught of rockets. (from Amit Segal’s Newsletter)
3) Gas prices have hit close to $100.00 a barrel. This is more than a 50% increase since the start of the war. This has raised prices at the pump and the longer the war goes on the more pressure will be placed on businesses to raise their prices due to transportation costs. Airfares will also begin seeing increases. Pray that President Trump can find a way to keep the Strait of Hormuz open and a resolution as this affects us all.
4) President Trump got involved in this war because the Iranian government has been threatening America and Israel for years. Comments like “we are the great satan and Israel is the little satan” have affected the hearts of many for many years. They hate our democracy which brings with it freedoms we often take for granted. Recently the IRGC(Iranian Military) killed over 40000 Iranian citizens protesting their lack of freedom. Pray that before the war ends the people of Iran raise up and remove the current government and replace them with one that desires democratic freedoms and principles and not seeking nuclear weapons.
5) Pray for the safety and wisdom of President Trump and his cabinet who are traveling to the Middle East to negotiate in lands unfamiliar to them. As they seek a resolution to the war, they are hated by many who would celebrate if any of them lost their lives.
Holidays: Passover, starts this Wednesday, April 1st(Nissan 14) and goes until April 9th(Nissan 22). This includes the 7 days of the Feast of Unleavened Bread which is when homes are cleared of any products, cookies, muffins, breads with leaven. In the Bible leaven is associated with sin so in the same way leaven is removed from homes during this time, we are to remove sin in our lives. The Apostle Paul explains like this in 1st Corinthians 5; 6-8;
Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump? Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our Passover is sacrificed for us: Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.
