US / Israel War with Iran: The current cease fire continues as negotiations between the United States, Israel and Iran continue. Tensions remain very high as President Trump moves slowly toward an agreement. News networks have stated that negotiations have ceased but he says differently while sticking to his position that Iran stop their nuclear program which includes the enrichment of uranium. To keep gas prices from escalating any further, President Trump has issued a naval blockade in the Gulf of Oman and the approaches to the Strait of Hormuz. Gas prices have come down a bit but are still 30% higher than a year ago. Pray for God’s will in this complex situation.
On June 1st President Trump stated that a cease fire between Hezbollah and Israel has been made, however, prior to the announcement it was reported the President and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had a heated discussion. The Israeli PM is very concerned that Hezbollah will not honor the agreement, and a cease-fire will give Hezbollah time to reinforce it’s military and attack Israel again. According to Lebanon’s embassy in Washington, the agreement would not end the conflict in that country. But it calls for Israel to refrain from strikes on Beirut and its suburbs controlled by Hezbollah, while the Iran-aligned group would halt its attacks on Israel. (Reuters) Pray for the IDF to stay on high alert so that more innocent lives will not be hurt and for the President and Prime Minister to come to an understanding on what’s best.
Continue to pray for the underground church in Iran that continues to grow despite persecution. Many continue to pray the leadership in Iran is overthrown but because close to 50000 Iranians were murdered earlier this year they are hesitant to protest again. Pray the Lord helps this come to pass and for Iran to stop funding groups like Hamas, Hezbollah and the Houtis.
In the midst of the war with Iran many innocent lives in Gaza continue to be forgotten. One positive is the World Central Kitchen, run by Jose Andres, who continues to do amazing work helping those in need. Pray for the men and women of the IDF fighting to keep Israel safe. As the war has dragged on, many soldiers have been injured. Hospitals are short of space and resources to treat many. This problem will escalate as the war continues. Pray for those working in the hospitals, they can expand and receive the resources they need to heal those who have sacrificed their lives.
Roman Gofman has been appointed head of Mossad by PM Benjamin Netanyahu. The prime minister reaffirmed to Gofman that stopping Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapon is still the main focus for the Mossad, Israel’s secret security agency. Mossad is similar to the CIA which gathers global intelligence to stop domestic and international threats against Israel.
